At Wick & Tallow we're not just about candles, although obviously they are a large part of what we do. We like most things scent, candle and wax related and have a Pinterest board for just that purpose. On our Musings in Wax board you will find an array of wax or candle based delights there that we want to share with the world because we think they're rather wonderful, creative and inspiring. The pictures below give you a quick edit of the kind of things you can find in our collection and all link directly to our Pinterest account so you easily follow us to keep up with what we like. This Sunday we will be selling our candles at the Soho Flea Market. Billed as the UK's premier artisan and designer crafts event, it looks set to be a fantastic day of summer festivities. Filled with incredible stalls selling everything from fashion to furniture mixed together with an amazing array of London's best street food and a great line up of music all thrown in for good measure.
Alongside our very own range of luxury scented candles will be casual wear from Plane Clothing, jewellery from Storm in a Teacup, bags from Beara Beara, ceramics from Jimbobart, homeware from Victoria Eggs, vintage inspired fashion from Teastained Lil and a whole lot more. The full line up can be seen on the event website here and you may very well pick up the perfect Father's Day present ahead of the mad rush.
The Meringue Girls, Hix's Fish Dog, Pizza Pilgrims and the Pit Stop Cafe will be amongst those whetting your appetites with their delicious selections of street food to keep you energised throughout the day.
Supported by The Groucho Club, Soho House group, Dean Street Studios and Quo Vadis amongst others, it will certainly be a day to remember. Last year more than 15,000 people attended, doubling the number from its inaugural year in 2012. All the action starts at 11am and goes on until 7pm, ensuring that there is plenty of time to get round all the stalls and really get stuck in.
Come and find us if you're in the area, we'll be outside Black's Club on Dean Street with an exciting new look stand to show off! The nearest tube stations are Leicester Square and Tottenham Court Road.

We were delighted to be asked to attend the Belgravia Wedding Fair hosted by The Halkin hotel, part of the prestigious COMO group on Saturday 5th April. Boasting a Michelin starred restaurant, The Halkin is one of Belgravia's best hotels constantly described by loyal regulars as a home away from home. The Belgravia Wedding Fair was a chance for Wick & Tallow to showcase our unique tailored candle service to wedding organisers and brides-to-be looking to add another dimension to the Big Day, alongside our existing range of candles. Set within the confines of what has become known as the Wedding Capital of London, The Halkin is surrounded by some of London's finest boutique services that can cater for all aspects of the most incredible weddings wherever they may be in the world.
This exacting and specialist fair brought together the likes of A La Carte cosmetics, John Nassari wedding photography, as well as wedding dress designers, event planners, honey moon organisers, flower suppliers and everything else you can think of to take the hassle out of your wedding day and make it the most special it could possibly be. All of this coupled with flowing champagne and stunning rooftop views of London combined to make it a hugely successful event with which to announce our entry into the wonderful world of weddings!
A man, who wishes to remain anonymous, has spoken out about seeing a unicorn roaming the highland area near to Wick in Caithness, Scotland. It is not the first time such claims have been made, although it is a first for northern Scotland and comes in the wake of a Unicorn Lair being proclaimed to exist within North Korea that was backed up by spurious photographic evidence last year. The man was out hiking near to the Castle of Old Wick when he spied what he described as a unicorn, saying it was "basically a horse with a horn, I could nae believe it". He did not manage to get a photograph but locals say that his sighting is the talk of the town, indeed it seems that it was all anyone was talking about when we visited the Crown Bar on Wick's High Street yesterday evening.
It didn't stay in sight for long and was last described as cantering off in the direction of Loch Hempriggs to the south of the town. It is expected that this sighting will lure many to Wick to try and sight the magical creature of lore, with some saying that they hoped Wick would benefit from those wanting to come and try their hand at spotting the unicorn, in a similar way that Loch Ness has become a haven for fanatics to try and spot the as yet unfound but much sought after Loch Ness Monster. Gerry MacLaughlin, landlord of The Alexander Bain in Market Place has suggested setting up a "unicorn safari" to ride the wave of anticipated interest in the area.
The man did have one piece of advice for those wanting to find the creature, which was that they shouldn't go looking for it. He believes it came to him precisely because he wasn't specifically searching for it and that in that way it was able to trust him. Unicorn sightings are few and far between, and have in the past been confused with viewings of the extremely rare asala, an Asian animal that has two horns rather than one and is more akin to an antelope than a horse or zebra. Recent unicorn sightings have been proclaimed in Canada and North Korea, although historically there have been many more throughout Asia in China and India, with the oldest recorded sighting by Adam in the Garden of Eden.
